In a sport where legends are made Fans have stood by Lewis Hamilton as Formula 1’s GOAT despite Max Verstappen’s 10 consecutive victories

In a sport where legends are born and records are broken, the controversy over who is the “Greatest of All Time” (GOAT) in Formula One rages on.

Despite an unbelievable run of ten straight Grand Prix victories, Max Verstappen is constantly fighting to dethrone his rival Lewis Hamilton and claim the coveted GOAT title.

Verstappen’s path to GOAT contention began in the 2021 season with an epic clash against Mercedes’ ace, Lewis Hamilton.

In a stunning turn of events, Verstappen clinched the world title on the final lap of the last race on the calendar, marking the start of what seemed like a power shift in the sport.

Verstappen and his Red Bull Racing team have maintained their supremacy since then, while Hamilton has struggled with a lack of form and frustrating technical concerns that have hampered his race performance.

A recent poll, however, indicated that fans remain unwavering in their view that Hamilton is the GOAT.

An astounding 49 percent of poll respondents supported the seven-time world champion, preferring him over iconic Formula One luminaries such as Michael Schumacher, Ayrton Senna, Sebastian Vettel, and Alain Prost.

These fans are not easily swayed by Verstappen’s recent success, suggesting that Hamilton’s legacy remains firmly intact.

Furthermore, 64 percent of poll participants believe Verstappen will never be crowned F1 GOAT, demonstrating a significant belief in Hamilton’s long-term dominance.

Verstappen, on the other hand, is unaffected by the criticism, claiming that people who dispute his achievements over the last two years are not true fans of the sport.

“Honestly, I have zero interest in that,” the two-time world champion stated candidly.

“For me, it was just that we were clearly beaten. I don’t consider what is best for Formula One.

“I don’t think it’s necessarily bad what was happening to Formula One because we were just better than everyone else.”

“And if people can’t appreciate that, then you’re not a true fan,” he concluded. But that’s the way it is.

“That’s why I was so at ease about it because we didn’t perform [at the Singapore Grand Prix] and other people did a better job than us.”

“Of course, they deserved to win then.”

“They shouldn’t win because people say it’s boring that we are winning.”
