Ex-Leeds United and Sheffield United boss have been identified as next Sheffield Wednesday boss if considered

Veteran manager Neil Warnock is said to be interested in taking over at Sheffield Wednesday if the position becomes available.

The Owls are looking for a new manager after parting ways with Xisco Munoz after a poor start to the season.

Warnock has previously overseen a number of Wednesday’s fiercest opponents, including Sheffield United and Leeds United.

His most recent stint was with Huddersfield Town, when he saved the club from relegation to League One last season.

However, Alan Biggs of talkSPORT believes Warnock would be interested in leading a rescue mission in S6.

Biggs wrote on X, “Understand Neil Warnock would be very interested in a rescue mission at SWFC, should he be considered.” Most fans are likely to accept him this time.”

The task at hand is difficult, given Wednesday’s winless record at the bottom of the Championship table.

Warnock has built a reputation as a specialist firefighter, steering Huddersfield Town and Rotherham United away from relegation.

Nathan Jones, who has been out of work since leaving Southampton earlier this year, has also been connected with the Owls.
