Injury misery as Leeds United will be without midfielder and likely three players when they face Bristol City at Elland Road on Saturday afternoon.

According to Whites boss Daniel Farke, on-loan Bournemouth attacker Jaidon Anthony stands a 50/50 chance of playing against the Robins.

However, there is good news in defense, where both Sam Byram and Joe Rodon might play as the squad looks to build on its midweek triumph over QPR.
Shackleton, who spent last season on loan with Millwall, returned to Leeds in the summer and has appeared in seven of the club’s Championship games this season.

He did, however, miss his team’s triumph over QPR on Wednesday night due to a shoulder injury, in a game where Anthony was forced out with an ankle injury 65 minutes into his debut start for the club.

Meanwhile, despite his recent fitness difficulties, Byram has started both of Leeds’ games this week, and Rodon has also picked up a knock in that match against the Hoops.

Now it appears like Leeds have a mixed injury outlook heading into this weekend’s match against Bristol City.

Speaking of his team’s selection possibilities before of this game, Farke appears to have been handed a mixed bag in terms of those individuals.

According to The Athletic’s Phil Hay, Leeds boss Phil Parkinson has announced that Shackleton will not play on Saturday owing to a shoulder injury.

Meanwhile, Anthony’s availability for this game is up in the air, while Byram’s availability will have to be determined at the last minute, though Farke is hopeful.

Rodon, meanwhile, is fit to play despite taking a knock in Wednesday night’s triumph against QPR.

Leeds enter this match against Bristol City having won three and drawn one of their last five league games, thanks to their midweek success over QPR.

With 16 points from ten league games so far, the Whites enter this weekend’s round of matches sixth in the Championship table, nine points adrift of the automatic promotion positions at this early stage of the season.

The main source of concern for Leeds appears to be a possible lack of options at left-back.

With the depth in their team, it appears like they will be able to adapt if they are unable to depend on Anthony in attack and Shackleton in midfield.

However, if Byram is unable to play, with Junior Firpo already out for the season and Shackleton’s versatility unavailable for this game, they will be extremely short on options for the left side of their defense.

That could be something Bristol City attempt to exploit if Farke is forced to go with a new formation, so the Whites will be more eager than ever to have Byram fit and available for this one.
