Olivier Giroud was the great hero for AC Milan in their 1-0 win against Genoa Wednesday night, not because he scored, but because he helped keep the scoreless. Zlatan Ibrahimovic has now spoken up about his heroics.
Due to Mike Maignan’s red card, Giroud was obliged to put on his gloves, and he made a crucial stop deep into additional time. Milan have moved into top place in the standings, two points ahead of local rivals Inter.
Ibrahimovic revealed his thoughts on the heroics on Instagram (see photo below) and asked Milan to send him the ‘Giroud 9’ goalkeeper jersey: “@acmilan, I want this shirt.” It is never too late to discover your true position. @oliviergiroud
