Wrongly Placed Or Directed – Former Ipswich Man Witnesses Significant Change In Blues Star

Former Ipswich Town midfielder Sam Parkin believes Manchester United loanee Brandon Williams is accomplishing things at Portman Road that he never did at Old Trafford.

The 23-year-old left-back came through Manchester United’s youth system and has battled to break into the first team.

Williams has joined Ipswich Town on loan this season, where he has been a crucial player for Kieran McKenna’s side, appearing eight times in the league so far.

Parkin confessed that he had never seen Williams take on or drive at opposing defenders while playing for Manchester United, as he is doing now for Ipswich.

He believes that the 23-year-old has been misdirected or incorrectly positioned by Manchester United’s coaches in order to maximize his abilities.

“I thought he was someone who flew into tackles and got involved over the officials all of a sudden, like, obviously, Kieran McKenna had him at United, but I never ever saw him driving or never saw him taking on anyone” , Parkin stated in a podcast episode of the EFL.

“Incredible, he must have it in his armoury, so he has either been wrongly positioned or directed by coaches previously because he looked like someone who was not quite up to the Premier League and looked like he was maybe going to fall down the levels.”

Despite the fact that Williams is a left-back, McKenna has used the Manchester United loanee as a right-back in recent games, and the 23-year-old has received plaudits for his efforts.
