Newcastle star Alexander Isak outscoring Erling Haaland according to a Premier League rival is he gave his mad verdict

Alexander Isak has now scored seven goals in all competitions, and Michail Antonio has weighed in on speculation that the Newcastle United forward might outscore Erling Haaland.

Any early predictions that Alexander Isak will outscore Erling Haaland this season have been discounted by Michail Antonio. Newcastle United’s record acquisition increased his season tally to seven goals with a brace against West Ham last time out.

Haaland has already scored eight Premier League goals for Manchester City, but the triple winners have now lost two straight league games following their recent setback at Arsenal. Pep Guardiola’s team also lost in the third round of the Carabao Cup at St James’ Park, with Isak scoring the only goal.

Antonio is full of praise for Newcastle striker Callum Wilson, who is presently leading the line ahead of last season’s best scorer. However, the West Ham midfielder believes Haaland’s finishing ability, paired with City’s ability to create chances, means the Norwegian international will once again outscore Isak.

“Well, there were some Newcastle fans who said this the other day, and people were absolutely destroying them for saying Isak is going to score more goals than Haaland this year,” Antonio stated on the Footballer’s Football Podcast. I saw that, and I think it’s a little crazy.”

“There are levels to it,” Antonio continued. I’m not going to lie: I believe he [Isak] is a good player. He’s excellent; the dude is astute!

“He’s quick, nimble, and has great feet.” I obviously fouled him, so I had to kick him down! When the man tried to cut inside, I told him, “No, slow your roll, mate!”

“Obviously, I believe he is of high quality, but there is a difference in teams.” Haaland will get a lot more action, and he’s a finisher. It means he’ll get more goals.
