Due to the changes, Farke will have very little time to work with the international members of his team

Leeds United are one of the teams that Sky Sports is always eager to feature on their featured Championship fixtures.

This season, the Whites have already had a number of dates changed to accommodate Daniel Farke’s side, including the opening weekend match against Cardiff City and the triumph over Millwall at The Den.

That tradition has continued with the revelation that matches against Rotherham and Sunderland will be shown in November and December, respectively, while advice from Lancashire police has brought the trip to Blackburn forward.

Leeds’ clash with Rotherham now takes place on Friday 24 November, instead of Saturday 25, meaning Farke will have very little time to work with the international members of his team, with the likes of Archie Gray, Ethan Ampadu, Joe Rodon and Dan James unlikely to return to training until Wednesday 22 November at best.

The Welsh members of the Whites team face Turkey in what could be a critical Euro 2024 qualifier on Tuesday, November 21, thus they are unlikely to return to Leeds training until the day before the game at the New York Stadium.

However, there is an advantage to this decision in that Leeds will have five full days to recover before facing Swansea City on Wednesday 29 November, as they enter the most hectic phase of the season, with 10 games in six and a half weeks.

Luckily, the movement of the other two matches should have little effect on the pitch as the fixture against Blackburn comes after Farke’s side have a week without a midweek match, while the trip to the Stadium of Light is played on the same night as originally planned.

Farke has already expressed his displeasure with the decision to reschedule several of Leeds United’s matches earlier this season, particularly when he believes Hull City were given extra time to prepare when they played in September [Hull Live, 17 September].

The German manager is unlikely to be pleased with missing a full day of training following the November international break, as several important players in his squad will be abroad with their national teams as he begins preparations for the visit of Rotherham.

According to the TV schedules so far this season, Leeds United will have a lot more dates shifted in the coming months, perhaps jeopardizing any promotion ambitions.
