Aston Martin suffered their worst qualifying of 2023 during the United States Grand Prix weekend

During the United States Grand Prix weekend, Aston Martin suffered their worst qualifying performance of 2023, as Fernando Alonso was eliminated in Q1 for the first time this season.

A concerning start to Aston Martin’s weekend in Austin has only worsened. During the first practice session, the British team’s brakes overheated on both vehicles. They were already in jeopardy, with minimal running affecting their ability to optimize their performance for Friday’s qualifying.

After displaying some early pace in Q1, both Alonso and Lance Stroll were eliminated from qualifying entirely as Aston Martin’s day came to an end.

The team appeared to be suffering from braking troubles, with Alonso failing to qualify for the first time in 2023.
