The latest Sunderland and Norwich City team and injury news ahead of their Championship clash

Sunderland are preparing for their Championship match against Norwich, with multiple players injured on both sides.

Despite an encouraging showing against league leaders Leicester on Tuesday, Tony Mowbray’s club will be seeking to rebound from three successive defeats.

Norwich are 14th in the table after winning only two of their last nine league games.

The following are the most recent injury and team news from each camps:

Alese is still suffering from surgery-related thigh pain. After another little setback, Mowbray has stated that the defender is still ‘two or three’ weeks away.
Sargent, Josh The striker has been out with an ankle ligament injury since August and is expected to be out till the new year.
Mayenda is recovering from a hamstring injury and played for the under-21s in a behind-closed-doors friendly against Hibernian on Monday. Mowbray has stated that while the adolescent may be named to the bench against Norwich, he is not yet ready to start for the senior team.

Norwich’s goalkeeper, who has started 12 Championship games this season, will be out until the next international break due to a muscular ailment.
