Roquan Smith Was Punished For Hitting Jared Goff
Roquan Smith of the Ravens was fined $16,391 for a hit on Detroit quarterback Jared Goff that resulted in a roughing-the-passer penalty. This occurred during the first play of the fourth quarter.
Odell Beckham Jr. is fined for lowering Kerby Joseph’s helmet.
The second fine resulted from a play that, albeit not resulting in a penalty during the game, cost the player involved even more. Odell Beckham Jr. was fined $21,844 for lowering his helmet in order to make contact with Lions safety Kerby Joseph. This event, which again occurred in the fourth quarter, resulted in the biggest penalties in Week 7. After taking a helmet-to-helmet blow from Beckham, Joseph was forced to leave the game to undergo concussion protocol.
Fortunately for the Detroit Lions, none of their players were charged with any violations during the game in Baltimore.
