Willie Green coach of the New Orleans Pelicans delivers an update on Brandon Ingram’s knee injury

Brandon Ingram, a late scratch from the New Orleans Pelicans’ lineup on Monday, had medical imaging done, which found no structural damage in his ailing right knee.

“Nothing concerning,” Pelicans coach Willie Green said on Tuesday.

Green also stated that Ingram is questionable for Wednesday’s game against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Ingram took part in the shootaround on Monday and appears to be on pace to play. However, he complained of right knee pain between shootaround and tipoff.

An hour before kickoff, the Pelicans announced that Ingram would not play against the Warriors.

Rookie Jordan Hawkins, who took Ingram’s position, said he found out about his starting spot 45 minutes before the game.

At halftime, the Pelicans trailed the Warriors by two points. New Orleans was unable to survive Stephen Curry’s scoring blitz in the third quarter. In the first quarter, Curry scored 12 of his 42 points. The Pelicans were defeated 130-102. This season, they have a 2-1 record.

Last season, Ingram missed 37 games. He missed 29 games in a row due to a left toe injury.

If Ingram is unable to play on Wednesday, he will be one of at least four Pelicans out. Jose Alvarado (right ankle), Naji Marshall (right knee), and Trey Murphy (left knee) are the only backup point guards who have yet to play this season.

Following their game against the Thunder on Wednesday, the Pelicans will have a short turnaround. On Thursday, they will play the Detroit Pistons.
