Chaos stumbled ahead of AC Milan and PSG champions league clash as two men stabbed in violence

Both a Frenchman, 34, and a policeman sustained injuries. It happened a few weeks prior to a European match, when a Newcastle United supporter was also stabbed in the city.

Before a Champions League match in Milan, there were separate altercations that resulted in the stabbings of a football fan and a policeman.

The violence occurred prior to AC Milan’s Tuesday night home game versus Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).

In the Navigli neighborhood of the city on Monday night, a group of about fifty Italian supporters have been accused of “ambushing” their French counterparts, including by hurling flares. The fans are all wearing masks and helmets.

During the brawl, a PSG supporter was stabbed twice in the leg and taken to the hospital.

The Frenchman, 34, was said to have received critical injuries by Italian media, albeit it is not believed that his wounds pose a threat to his life.

Meanwhile, an officer was stabbed in a different altercation involving PSG supporters and the police. The accused party was taken into custody.

In a tweet on X, the former Twitter platform, AC Milan denounced the violence.

“For us, football is passion, not hate,” it stated. Sport is meant to bring people together, not drive them apart.”

AC Milan opposes all forms of violence since, to us, football is about passion, not hate. Sports are meant to bring people together, not divide them.

It follows the September stabbing of a Newcastle United supporter in the same location before the team’s Champions League matchup with AC Milan.

The Italian team, who advanced to the competition’s semifinals the previous year, is presently bottom of Group F and has failed to score a goal or win this season.
