Erik ten Hag and Rob Edwards respectively addressed the media ahead of Manchester United v Luton Town as 14 players to be out due to injuries

Manchester United will be without seven players for their Premier League match against Luton Town on Saturday.

Erik ten Hag confirmed on Friday that Jonny Evans has joined his list of absentees, which means that two of Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof, and Raphael Varane will start at centre-back.
Luke Shaw, Tyrell Malacia, and Amad are all recovering from injuries, but none of them will return before the international break, and Ten Hag confirmed on Tuesday that Lisandro Martinez and Casemiro will not play before Christmas.

The only absentee for the Red Devils is Jadon Sancho, who is still training with the youth team following his public criticism of his manager in September.

Cauley Woodrow has been ruled out of Luton Town’s trip to Old Trafford for the first time since 1991, according to manager Rob Edward. “Cauley hurt his calf, he’s out for a few weeks, so I’m really disappointed,” the 40-year-old explained.

“He’s another one, he’ll hopefully not be too long, he was really frustrated and we’re disappointed to lose him as he’s been doing really well.”

Luton Town are still without Mads Andersen, Reece Burke, Dan Potts, Luke Berry, Amari’i Bell, Albert-Mboyo, and Sambi Lokonga, but Edwards is optimistic that they will return after the international break.

“Amari is making good progress, but he won’t be ready for this one, so the squad will be very, very similar to the Liverpool game.” We’re getting bodies back quickly after the international break, which I believe will be a big help.

Meanwhile, Jordan Clark, who has recovered from an ankle injury sustained during pre-season, could make his Premier League debut on Saturday.

“Clicks has had a full week again, he’d only had a couple of days before that one and it was almost needs must with him being around,” Edwards was quoted as saying by reporters on Friday. “He’s had a full week’s work, it’s brilliant to have him back and he’s already shown what he’s about in training, so really pleased to have him back.”

Evans, Martinez, Shaw, Malacia, Casemiro, Amad, and Sancho (both United); Andersen, Burke, Potts, Bell, Berry, Lokonga, and Woodrow (both United).
