Ipswich Town suffer double injury boost as few players in doubts regarding star attacker ahead of Swansea City clash

According to Kieran McKenna, Ipswich Town forward Nathan Broadhead has recovered from his sickness, and Wes Burns might be added back to the team for the match against Swansea City.

Welsh duo Broadhead and Burns of Ipswich Town are two key performers moving forward. With six goals, former Everton player Broadhead leads the Tractor Boys in scoring, and right-sided sensation Burns was instrumental in leading McKenna’s team to the Championship.

But Broadhead did not play in the midweek stalemate against Rotherham United. Due to illness, Marcus Harness and Kayden Jackson began their time on the wings without the talisman.

Burns’ shoulder injury sustained while serving abroad has kept him out of action for a lengthier period of time. However, it’s possible that both Welshmen will play this weekend against Swansea City.

According to McKenna’s pre-game assessment on the duo X, which was relayed by EADT reporter Stuart Watson, Burns’ inclusion in the squad is “not impossible” but Broadhead has recovered from his illness.

Positive news from Kieran McKenna’s press conference prior to Swansea.

Declares it “not impossible” Tomorrow, Wes Burns is involved, and Nathan Broadhead is well after his illness.

Thankfully, Ipswich Town have the squad depth on the wings to have managed in the extended absence of Burns. Broadhead’s midweek absence meant options were depleted a little more but even still, McKenna still had options to pick from out wide.

That being said, Town will benefit greatly from both being available once more. Burns, who was left out of the Wales squad despite Broadhead’s inclusion, can use the international break to regain full fitness if he can play this weekend.

Burns returning to the starting lineup right away might be a bit premature, though, given McKenna’s lack of commitment over his participation. In the match against Swansea City, Harness, Jackson, or Omari Hutchinson might all start.
