Spurs drop big hint on selection headache and injury update as three players out and few in doubts ahead of Wolves clash

Prior to their next Premier League match this Saturday, Ange Postecoglou, the manager of Tottenham Hotspur, faces a difficult selection process.

Cristian Romero and Destiny Udogie of Spurs are both suspended, and Micky van de Ven is sidelined for an extended period of time due to a hamstring injury.

For Tottenham’s match against Wolves, Eric Dier is probably going to start, with the second center-back spot being up for grabs.

But Spurs seem to have given some indications ahead of the game, which should thrill supporters.

Ashley Phillips, a summer acquisition for Spurs, appears certain to at least make the matchday roster and maybe even start.

Although the 18-year-old has played in the EFL Trophy and Premier League 2 this season, he was left off of the most recent Under-21 squad.

Tuesday night saw Tottenham’s youth team play Cambridge United, and Phillips was not present at all.

Additionally, the £3 million Blackburn acquisition has been observed at Spurs senior training at Hotspur Way.

Dejan Kulusevski, Phillips’ colleague at Tottenham, also looks optimistic about Phillips’ chances of starting for the first squad.

Yes, he is probably ready, the Sweden international said to football.london earlier this week.

“The coach makes that decision, but in my opinion, every athlete in training is amazing.

Everyone is eager to play and prepared, and the training is at such a high level. Thus, he will be prepared if called.

Throughout his 14 senior games for Blackburn, Phillips has proven to be a superior player in the Championship.

If he is selected for Saturday’s match against Wolves, it will be interesting to watch how he performs.
