After a humiliating loss to the Cowboys the New York Giants set a crazy record that no one would want to break.

The New York Giants have been a bad football team this season. And things reached a new low on Sunday, when they were humiliated by the Cowboys.

The Giants have been on the receiving end of a slew of blowouts this season, including a 40-0 loss to Dallas in week one. However, Sunday’s humiliating performance may have been the worst.

When discussing the biggest blowouts, most people refer to the point differential. Total yardage for each team is arguably a better way to measure a game’s competitiveness in a blowout. And the Giants’ stats on Sunday were not encouraging. Examine it out.

Yikes. The final yardage totaled 640-172. 172 total yards of offense isn’t great, but it happens a few times a season. But allowing 640 yards on defense? That is heinous. And, unlike the Giants’ offense, the Giants’ defense is in good shape.

The only reason the score was as “close” as it was was due to two Cowboys interceptions that ended drives on which they would have likely scored.

Sadly for fans of the G-Men, the team has seven more games this. With Tommy DeVito looking likely to be the starting quarterback for the remainder of the season, an already terrible Giants offense will be historically awful.

Fortunately for Giants fans, the team’s current record of 2-8 has moved them up to the second pick in the 2024 NFL Draft if the season ended today. The franchise obviously needs a franchise quarterback, and picking there would give them a chance to select either Drake Maye or Caleb Williams from the University of North Carolina.

Still, Giants fans will be disappointed after watching their team lose twice in blowouts to their bitter rivals in Dallas.

The jobs of head coach Brian Daboll and general manager Joe Schoen appear to be secure. However, they face a lengthy rebuilding process.
