A new detail about the alleged Kelly Oubre Jr accident has been revealed by a reporter.

The Philadelphia 76ers were one of the feel-good stories of the 2023-24 NBA season, with Joel Embiid and company firing on all cylinders in the post-James Harden era and sitting atop the Eastern Conference standings with an 8-2 record.

Unfortunately, the 76ers’ season hasn’t been all sunshine and smiles, with the team recently learning that Kelly Oubre Jr. was involved in a hit-and-run incident that landed him in the hospital with injuries that will keep him out for an extended period of time.

Not only was the news unfortunate because it jeopardized Oubre’s future career and health, but he had been an incredible addition to the team this season and was one of the reasons for the team’s impressive play thus far.

According to Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer via NBACentral, things got even worse for the 76ers on Wednesday, when news broke about surveillance footage of the incident involving Oubre and how it may not be what the veteran journeyman described.

The Oubre news doesn’t help the situation in Philadelphia, which is currently playing at a high level despite losing their winning streak this week to the Boston Celtics.

The 76ers only wanted positive vibes moving forward after the Harden fiasco over the summer, and they appeared to be on the right track, with the team winning a lot of games and Tyrese Maxey developing into a star.
