Newcastle ace could now be out until 2024 with injury: Newcastle United are desperate to get players back fit ahead of a busy winter.

Newcastle United are dealing with a slew of injuries and are desperate to get players back in shape ahead of a busy winter.

Following the international break, Newcastle will play twice a week until the end of the season, competing in the Premier League, Champions League, and Carabao Cup.

Eddie Howe’s squad is already overburdened, which is why he is desperate to see some players return from injury.

There is some good news, with Alexander Isak hoping to play against Chelsea on November 25th. Harvey Barnes is also nearing a return to training, and Sven Botman is expected to return soon after the international break.

However, there is some bad news for Newcastle midfielder Elliot Anderson.

Newcastle ace Elliot Anderson could now be out until 2024 with injury

Elliot Anderson, according to the Northern Echo, could be out ‘well into the new year’ due to a back injury.

Anderson’s injury was confirmed by Eddie Howe in late October, so he has been out for longer than his initial diagnosis suggested.
The 21-year-old hasn’t played since the 4-0 victory over Crystal Palace on October 21st, and Howe has said he could be out for up to eight weeks. That kind of layoff would indicate that Anderson would return in December, but this update from the Northern Echo suggests that he will be out for much longer than expected.

Howe stated that Anderson was ‘frustrated’ after the injury was confirmed. The injury happened just as he was establishing himself as a key player at St James’ Park. He had started four Premier League games and appeared in every match up until his injury.

If he is unable to return until 2024, he will be even more frustrated.
