Brighton spy latest transfer masterstroke plan to beat rivals in the signing of the 18-year-old winger

Brighton are considering a move for a Manchester United winger, and the Seagulls’ plan to beat multiple transfer rivals to his signature has emerged.

This year’s season for Manchester United has been a true case of feast or famine. The Red Devils have yet to draw a single match in all competitions, with all 18 of their matches ending in victory or defeat.

The 4-3 defeat to Copenhagen on November 8 was arguably the most humiliating of their nine losses.

Man United led 2-0 and 3-2 in the tie before succumbing 4-3 in Denmark. United’s third defeat in the Champions League group stage has dropped them to the bottom of the table with only two games remaining.

Roony Bardghji, a 17-year-old winger, scored the game-winning goal in Copenhagen.

Sweden, who was born in Kuwait Under-21 international is a veritable wonderkid who, despite his youth, has been playing senior football for Copenhagen since 2021.

This season, Bardghi has made huge strides forward and added end product to his game. Indeed, the left-footed right winger has 11 goals in 25 appearances.

Given that many of his appearances have come off the bench, Bardghi is averaging a goal every 122 minutes this season. That’s an incredible accomplishment for a player who just turned 18 two days ago.

According to Football Insider, Brighton plans to bring Bardghji to the Premier League.

Brighton spy makes latest transfer coup; plan to beat rivals revealed

The Seagulls are well-known for being transfer market masters, regularly signing young stars who go on to generate massive profits for the club.

According to FI, Brighton are far from alone in their pursuit of Bardghji. They are confident, however, that they will be able to entice Bardghji to the south coast with a more concrete path to regular first-team football.

A move to a bigger club could lead to Bardghji wasting away on the bench. Meanwhile, Brighton have shown a willingness to trust young players and would be able to quickly integrate the winger into their first-team plans.

Copenhagen is understandably hesitant to lose such a talented player. However, the report adds that as interest grows, a sale will become inevitable.

In terms of price, FI believes that “a fee of around £30m plus add-ons” could be sufficient to close the deal.

That is far more than the fees we are used to seeing in Brighton for teen sensations.

However, it could be an indication of how highly regarded Bardghji is, as well as the fact that he is already a first-team regular in Denmark.
