Crystal Palace in a battle for the German striker linked with a return to the Premier League with the likes of Fulham and West Ham United keen

Timo Werner, a German striker, has been linked with a return to the Premier League, with Crystal Palace, Fulham, and West Ham United all interested.

According to 90min, Crystal Palace, Fulham, and West Ham United are all interested in signing Timo Werner, a 27-year-old German striker, in the coming months. Werner previously played in the Premier League for Chelsea, where he won the UEFA Champions League.

Werner had a forgettable time at Chelsea despite winning the Champions League in 2020/21, and he returned to the Bundesliga last year by rejoining RB Leipzig. With a return to the Bundesliga, the 27-year-old has regained his confidence and sharpness, scoring 16 goals in all competitions.

The German international has previously proven to be a consistent goalscorer in Germany’s top flight, and it remains to be seen whether he is ready to return to the Premier League.

During his time in the Premier League, the striker scored 23 goals in 89 appearances for Chelsea. Furthermore, as previously stated, he led them to the UEFA Champions League title.

It is evident that Werner struggled to adapt to English football, and staying in Germany could be ideal for him.

Meanwhile, Crystal Palace could certainly benefit from more attacking depth, and signing a goalscorer could be a wise decision. Goalscorers like Jean-Philippe Mateta and Odsonne Edouard have struggled to score consistently, and a proven goalscorer could help them tremendously. They were recently linked to Kelechi Iheanacho.

Similarly, Fulham sanctioned Aleksandar Mitrovic’s departure and have yet to replace his output. Bringing in a proven goal scorer could help them climb the table and finish strong. The Cottagers are interested in a number of strikers, including Santiago Gimenez.

In terms of West Ham United, they will need to find a quality long-term replacement for Michail Antonio, and Werner could be an intriguing acquisition. West Ham is currently competing in the UEFA Europa League, and they will want to do well. Signing Werner could help them improve in the future, but it remains to be seen if the player is interested in returning to London.

West Ham have assembled an impressive squad, and with a couple of quality additions, they should be able to compete for trophies. There is no doubt that the three clubs have the financial means to complete the transaction. However, persuading the former Champions League champion could be difficult.
