Nottingham Forest forward Gustavo Scarpa appears to have no future at the City Ground reports suggest he will agreed a move to Brazil

Gustavo Scarpa, the Nottingham Forest forward, appears to have no future at the City Ground.

Several reports are now circulating, with a journalist claiming on Friday that he had agreed to relocate to Brazil.

Scarpa joined Forest from Palmeiras in January 2023. He had recently won the Golden Ball Award and was on a free transfer.

Gustavo Scarpa, the story so far

Scarpa, 29, was expected to be a useful signing for the Reds, but he has struggled to adjust to life in England.

After Forest and Scarpa reached an agreement, the forward chose to finish the title race with Palmeiras first.
The player made 212 appearances for the Brazilian club after joining from Fluminense.

He’s a bit of a late bloomer when it comes to moving to Europe, and his dream has quickly turned into a nightmare.

Gustavo Scarpa, what they say

Last season, following a 2-0 win over Leicester City, Ian Wright praised the Forest player.

He described the player as ‘fantastic’ on Match of the Day, and it was arguably the player’s best performance.

Scarpa is also a big fan of Ryan Yates. He was a popular figure in the dressing room and was referred to as a “breath of fresh air.”

Scarpa’s strengths, according to Who Scored, include crossing, key passes, and long shots.

Who wants Gustavo Scarpa

When the transfer window reopens, several clubs are expected to be interested in signing the versatile forward.

Atletico Mineiro was the most recent club to express interest, and it was reported on Friday that Scarpa had agreed to join.

That could be incorrect, as new reports from Goal Brazil claim that he wants to finish his loan with Olympiacos.

A number of Brazilian clubs were said to be interested in Scarpa last month.

However, his £30,000-a-week salary from Forest is problematic in his home country, and interested parties would only consider a loan deal.

Scarpa is also linked to Besiktas. The Turkish club was interested before he joined Olympiacos, but their interest may have waned now.

It’s also been suggested in recent weeks that Forest may try to use Scarpa as a bargaining chip.

The Reds are attempting to work out a deal for Nino with Fluminense, and Scarpa has been mentioned as a possible trade partner.

How much do Forest want for Gustavo Scarpa

Forest has stated that he wishes to profit from Scarpa. According to UOL, he cost the club nothing and has a £5 million valuation on his head.

Forest may have to fight to recoup that amount. Any interest currently appears to be for loan deals, which will not excite the Reds.

The Reds will need him to perform well at Olympiacos before Forest can demand such a high fee for Scarpa.

Gustavo Scarpa at Forest, a summary

It’s difficult not to sympathize with Scarpa.

He’s never caused any trouble at Forest, but he’s always had better players ahead of him.

Scarpa is a number 10 by trade, and he was never going to unseat Morgan Gibbs-White from that spot last season.

He appeared in 10 Premier League games for Forest without scoring or assisting.

That may not tell the whole story, and he was unlucky during his time at the club.

He sustained an injury that ended his season, and prior to that, he was forced to return to Brazil to resolve a scam that he had fallen victim to.

In the end, Forest didn’t lose much by signing Scarpa.

Okay, he made a good living from Forest, but signing the Brazilian was a calculated risk.

The player’s current challenge is to improve at Olympiacos.

If he succeeds, he will be hoping for another move in Europe when the summer transfer window opens.
