Wrexham’s defender has suffered an injury setback to further complicate Phil Parkinson’s plans ahead of their game against Morecambe.

The centre-back has been suffering from back problems, but despite making a comeback in the team’s 2-0 victory over Gillingham 11 days ago, he has since suffered a setback and was not named to the starting lineup against Accrington. With a slew of injuries plaguing the squad, Parkinson would have hoped to see Tunnicliffe return to the starting lineup, but his return was brief. Parkinson also confirmed that Tom O’Connor had been added to the injury list after sustaining a blow over the weekend.

“Jordan is struggling, unfortunately,” Parkinson said, according to The Leader. “We believe his hamstring problem stems from his back, so Jordan will be out for some time.” I’m not sure exactly what that is. Jordan is going through a difficult time, but we can’t help him. We just need to get him back in shape, and hopefully we’ll be able to keep him on the training field this time.”

The club owned by Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney is currently flying high after promotion to League Two last season, but Parkinson believes injuries and international call-ups are starting to catch up with the Red Dragons, who lost to Accrington Stanley last weekend. They are still fourth in the league, but a loss to Morecambe could drop them to seventh.

The Red Dragons will play Morecambe on Saturday, November 25 in the hope of regaining second place in the league.
