Brett Pitcher Community Coach praise Liam Palmer and Chris Powell joined Sheffield Community Programme to support anti-racism charity

This week, Liam Palmer and Chris Powell joined Sheffield Wednesday Community Programme to show racism the red card.

Over 90 children from primary schools across Sheffield were warmly welcomed by the Owls duo to Hillsborough for an important workshop led by the anti-racism charity.
Youngsters were given a tour of Hillsborough Stadium before being surprised by Palmer and Assistant Coach Powell, who worked with children to design anti-hate crime posters.

The pair also discussed their personal experiences with racism, the negative impact it has on society, and the need to eradicate it from the start.

“It was absolutely brilliant to see Chris and Liam supporting the event,” said Brett Pitcher, Community Coach at SWFCCP.

“Educating children at this young age is crucial in building a stronger and more inclusive future.”

Thank you to the children who participated in the session from Hillsborough Primary, Windmill Hill, Wharncliffe Side, and Greengate Lane!
