Wolves to lose a favorite player as Arsenal battles Manchester United to sign the 23-year-old as Wolves demand huge money for the winger

According to TEAMtalk, Arsenal are favourites to sign Pedro Neto ahead of Manchester United, but Wolves will demand a high fee for the winger.

Wolves are currently 12th in the Premier League, 10 points clear of the drop zone. Although they have struggled at times with underwhelming performances, they have also shown spirited performances in the league, including a 2-1 victory over defending champions Manchester City, as well as coming from two goals down to earn a 2-2 draw with Newcastle United and a 2-1 win over Tottenham.

Neto, one of Gary O’Neil’s team’s bright spots, has been one of Europe’s best wingers this season. Neto is the Premier League assist leader this season, with seven assists in ten games.

His performances have not gone unnoticed, with Arsenal, Manchester United, and teams in the Saudi Pro League all keeping an eye on the 23-year-old with the intention of signing him next summer. However, according to TeamTalk, Mikel Arteta’s side is more likely to reach an agreement.

Any proposed move, however, will not be cheap, with TeamTalk reporting that Wolves will demand a £60 million fee for Neto, whose contract expires in June 2027, for a transfer to take place.

Neto has been identified by Arsenal’s board as a potential transfer target in order to add depth to the squad as Arsenal seeks to go all the way in both domestic and continental competitions. According to TeamTalk, contact has been made with his agent, Jorge Mendes, to discuss the terms of a deal.

The possibility of a move, however, may be put on hold after the Portuguese international was hooked off in Wolves’ 2:2 draw with Newcastle in what appeared to be a serious injury after the player showed discomfort. Despite this, Neto is expected to return before the end of the January transfer window, with potential suitors ready to make a move as soon as he recovers.

Arsenal will savor their chances of landing the Portuguese international after reports revealed that the winger would prefer a move to Europe rather than a big-money move to the Middle East.
