Brighton Loanee has become a key player at Blackburn Rovers as star earns high praise after key role in Stoke City win

Blackburn Rovers won 3-0 away from home against Alex Neil’s Stoke City over the weekend.

Blackburn Rovers returned to winning ways on Saturday, defeating Stoke City 3-0 away. It was a much-needed victory for Rovers, who had been defeated by Preston North End just before the break.
Jon Dahl Tomasson’s team got off to a flying start, with Scott Wharton scoring just four minutes in. The next goal came four minutes from time, with Irishman Andrew Moran making it 2-0 before Sammie Szmodics netted his 11th of the season in stoppage time.

Moran, a Brighton loanee, has been making headlines this week. He made his senior debut for the Republic of Ireland before returning to club action with another outstanding performance, and the Blackburn Rovers loanee has now received widespread acclaim.

The Lancashire Telegraph gave him an 8/10 for his performance after assisting Wharton’s and then scoring himself. Elliott Jackson, a reporter, had this to say about the youngster’s’special week’:

“Had a good delivery for the corner that Wharton headed in for both goals.” The youngster then sealed the points with a strong finish to cap off a memorable week.”

Moran came from Brighton with a good reputation, but this is only his first senior loan. In his last three Championship games, he has a goal and four assists, bringing his total for Rovers to three goals and seven assists in 16 games.

He’s proving why he was so highly regarded upon his arrival, and with more performances like this, it won’t be long before others take notice. His contributions against Stoke City were the perfect way to cap off a fantastic week.

Moran will be hoping to inspire Blackburn Rovers to a second consecutive win against Birmingham City on Wednesday night.
