Carlton Palmer has now made a deeply concerning prediction involving Sheffield Wednesday.

Tonight at Hillsborough, the Owls take on Leicester City in the Championship.
Wednesday is in peril, and they are currently 10 points behind the team in fourth place.

Danny Rohl has a lot of work to do, and he’s only won one game since taking over for Xisco Munoz.

When it comes to offering his thoughts on the Owls, the former Wednesday player isn’t afraid to speak up.

He had a public spat with Dejphon Chansiri shortly after being promoted to the Championship, and he’s very opinionated.

Palmer, on the other hand, is only concerned with Wednesday and speaks as a fan.

Now, he’s made a very concerning prediction about the Owls ahead of tonight’s game against Leicester.

“Sheffield Wednesday are in deep, deep trouble,” he told Football League World.

“Three defeats in a row since Danny Rohl’s first victory, rooted at the bottom of the Championship table, ten points from safety.”

“It is absolutely clear that the football club’s recruitment of players was poor prior to his arrival.”

“I’m not sure how much he knew about the squad before taking the job, and we’ll see if he’s supported in the January transfer window to bring in new players.”

“I’ve stated in recent weeks that I feel the Owls are unfortunately too far adrift to survive this season, and if the owner feels that, I suppose it’s all about getting the right squad in place to make an immediate return to the Championship the following year.”

He has an opinion, but any Wednesday fans who disagree with Palmer have their heads buried in the sand.

Wednesday are in serious trouble, as is obvious. The January transfer window may provide some relief, but there are seven games left before then.

The Owls could be seriously doomed by the end of the next seven games, and they desperately need a win somewhere.

Rohl appears to be a good man. He’s a coach with a growing reputation, and kudos to him for accepting his first managerial position at Wednesday.

However, he will ultimately be judged on results. He needs positive reinforcements as soon as possible to lift the spirits in Hillsborough, and Palmer is correct in making reservations for Wednesday.

Every game, the Owls put up a fight. However, they must quickly turn the corner, and it will be fascinating to see what happens in January.
