West Ham midfielder is not expected to be ruled out of any games due to a facial injury according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

Over the break, the Czech Republic international injured his forehead, and images of how painful it must have been for him have emerged.

However, he had stitches placed and continued to play, even appearing for the Hammers over the weekend, but he may require further treatment if the injury worsens.

Brar, a Physical Therapy specialist and Sports Scientist, told West Ham Zone exclusively:

“He got a good one across the forehead!”

“It’s a nasty cut across the forehead, and his comments align with elite football – they figured out that he can play with the options available to him.”

“He had stitches and was able to play even on international duty.”

“The best case is that there’s no further issue and the worst case would be that the cut opens up or gets hit again which would require further treatment.”

The 28-year-old has once again emerged as a key player for David Moyes, earning a place in a more advanced role.

Soucek used to play deeper alongside Declan Rice, but this season he’s mostly been used in an attacking midfield role.

He’s even scored four goals and provided an assist in 12 Premier League games this season, which is a good return for him.
