Before the quarrel between Greenlaw and DiSandro the 49ers linebacker was called for unnecessary roughness after slamming Eagles wide receiver with Eagles security chief ejected

The 49ers faithful knew Sunday’s game between San Francisco and the Philadelphia Eagles would be a heated one, but they probably didn’t expect non-players to be a part of the drama.

Dre Greenlaw of the San Francisco 49ers and Dom DiSandro of the Philadelphia Eagles were both ejected from the Week 13 game at Lincoln Financial Field in the third quarter after an altercation on the Philadelphia sideline.

Prior to the altercation between Greenlaw and DiSandro, the 49ers linebacker was called for unnecessary roughness after slamming Eagles wide receiver DeVonta Smith to the ground near the sideline. DiSandro objected to the tackle, and an argument ensued.

As he walked off the field, Eagles fans gave him a standing ovation.

Greenlaw’s unnecessary roughness penalty was not his first of the season, and he was previously ejected for a hit on Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert during the 2022 NFL season.

While the Eagles scored on that memorable drive, the 49ers responded with a 48-yard touchdown pass from Brock Purdy to wideout Deebo Samuel, extending their lead to 27-13.
