Max Verstappen has expressed his desire to team up with the Spanish racing driver with a clear request on the Honda Thanks Day celebration at the Twin Ring Motegi

Max Verstappen, a three-time Formula One world champion, has expressed a desire to compete in the grueling 24 Hours of Le Mans endurance race with none other than Fernando Alonso.

This fantasy pairing was first mentioned at last weekend’s Honda Thanks Day celebration at the Twin Ring Motegi, where Verstappen was asked about his racing ambitions outside of Formula 1.

While a move to IndyCar is unlikely, Verstappen has expressed an interest in exploring other racing opportunities.

And when the subject of Le Mans came up, the Dutchman couldn’t pass up the chance to fan the flames of speculation.

“I’d definitely like to ride a MotoGP bike.” SuperGT is a game that I enjoy. “I got to try one last year, and it was very nice,” said the Red Bull driver.

“The Super Formula cars are fantastic. “It’s the fastest car below Formula One, and it looks fantastic,” Verstappen said.

“However, Le Mans is something I would definitely like to do.” I’ve been there before, when my father raced in Le Mans.

“The endurance of the atmosphere is amazing – so many people, driving through the night, sunrise.” It’s really cool, in my opinion.”

Although Verstappen has previously expressed interest in teaming up with his father Jos for an assault on the endurance classic, he believes Alonso – a two-time winner at Le Mans with Toyota – would be the ideal partner in crime.

“I’ve been speaking to Fernando about it,” Verstappen said. “He said he’d only want to do it with me again.” “Wow, that would be really cool,” I thought.

Indeed, the mere thought of the two F1 titans collaborating sends shivers down the spines of motorsport fans all over the world.

There’s no doubt that Verstappen’s driving prowess combined with Alonso’s strategic brilliance and unwavering determination would be a formidable force capable of conquering the legendary Circuit de la Sarthe.

“The only difference is that there is no minimum weight for the driver in Le Mans.”

“Because I’m a heavy driver, I’d need to find lighter teammates to compensate.” However, Fernando is quite light, so it would be ideal. But we’d need to find another one, so I’ll go look.”
