The 76-year-old manager is expected to be sacked within a weeks by Palace but there is a growing likelihood of him leaving by mutual consent as he is just halfway into his one-year contract

According to Football Insider, veteran manager Roy Hodgson could leave Crystal Palace within weeks.

After saving the Eagles from relegation at the end of last season, the 76-year-old was rewarded with a one-year contract at Selhurst Park in the summer.

However, it is believed that Hodgson and the club may be parting ways now, just under halfway through his contract.

The experienced manager is not expected to be fired by Palace, but he is increasingly likely to leave by mutual consent.

According to sources, Hodgson’s second stint at Selhurst Park is coming to an end, which the manager and club executives believe is natural.

Following their 2-0 loss to Bournemouth on Wednesday (6 December), Crystal Palace have won just one of their last seven Premier League games, and they now sit 14th in the table.

Man United also knocked the Eagles out of the League Cup in the third round.

Hodgson took over for Patrick Vieira in late March, with the club just three points above the drop zone.

Vieira had gone 12 games without a win, but the ex-England manager won five of his final ten games to ensure survival in 2022-23.

He has won 64 of his 188 games as manager of his childhood club.

The south London club is currently dealing with two major injuries, with Cheick Doucoure set to miss the rest of the season and Eberechi Eze sidelined with yet another problem.

Crystal Palace are set to abandon their January plans to sign a striker in favor of bolstering their central midfield options, according to Football Insider on Tuesday (5 December).
