Roberto De Zerbi has revealed an injury update as he confirmed three sensational players to be out of action until at least a few weeks

The Barcelona loanee, 21, was substituted in the first half against Nottingham Forest on Saturday, November 25 due to a hamstring injury.

“The news about Ansu Fati is that he needs three months from when he picked up the injury,” De Zerbi said on Friday (December 8) ahead of Brighton’s home match against Burnley.

“It’s bad news for us because he was playing better and grasping the concept better.” I’m sorry for him and the team, especially now that Welbeck and Enciso aren’t playing.”

Fati will be out until at least February 25, which will be a huge blow to both him and the club.

The winger has four goals in 17 appearances across all competitions, including both 2-0 victories over European giants Ajax.

After suffering a meniscus tear in the 2020/21 season, the youngster missed ten months of action for Barcelona. In the 21/22 season, he was also sidelined for more than nine weeks due to a hamstring injury.

De Zerbi also confirmed that Adam Webster is still out injured for Brighton, but that Lewis Dunk and Mahmoud Dahoud have returned from suspension. Adam Lallana is also an option.

“I don’t know when he [Webster] will play,” said the Italian. “However, it’s critical for us that Dunk and Mo are available because they’re both crucial, especially at this time.”

“We are going through a difficult moment in terms of injuries and having two players available is important.”
