Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis’ decision about Steve Cooper is explained following the draw at Wolves

Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis was “impressed” by the Reds’ “spirit and fight” against Wolves on Saturday.

Forest were under immense pressure after a 5-0 thrashing at the hands of Fulham in midweek, so this was a crucial match. A well-earned point at Wolves has put an end to a run of defeats and given Cooper more time to turn things around.

Marinakis, who left the Fulham game early and allegedly threw his accreditation badge into a bush after the game, has been “placed” by his performance against Wolves.

Rob Dorsett of Sky Sports News has confirmed reports that Cooper will be given more time, as well as going into detail on Marinakis’ thought process. “The immediate pressure on Steve Cooper has eased, I’m told, after #nffc draw at #wwfc,” the reporter wrote on X.

“The performance and result at Molineux has placated Marinakis to a degree, who was impressed by the spirit and fight from the players which has shown him they still have belief in the manager.”
