Bengals head coach Zac Taylor explain the team situation with an injury update before determining if Ja’Marr Chase will play this week.

WXIX (Cincinnati) – Bengals head coach Zac Taylor said the team will wait until the end of the week to see if Ja’Marr Chase will play.

Chase missed the game against the Pittsburgh Steelers due to a shoulder injury.

The Bengals’ head coach stated that having the star wide receiver back for the game against the Kansas City Chiefs “would be big,” but they will see how he progresses throughout the week.

Following Saturday’s 34-11 loss to the Steelers (8-7), Cincinnati (8-7) is clinging to its playoff hopes.

As of Week 17, the Bengals are still in the hunt for an AFC playoff spot.

The Bengals will be back in familiar territory on New Year’s Eve, when they travel to Kansas City to face the Chiefs (9-6) at 4:25 p.m.

According to NFL.com, the Bengals currently have a 24% chance of making the playoffs. A win on Sunday would boost their playoff chances to 57%.

Last season, the Bengals were defeated in the AFC Championship game in Kansas City.

In Kansas City, a loss this week could effectively end their season.

If they lose, Cincinnati will have only an 8% chance of making the playoffs entering the final week of the season.

Both the Bengals and the Chiefs are coming off losses entering Sunday’s pivotal game.
