The Seattle Seahawks will be missing at least five players against the Pittsburgh Steelers, with another five doubtful. With swelling in his knee, star safety Jamal Adams will not participate. Adams has missed three games in a row, and the team has decided to rest him for the time being.

Edge rusher Frank Clark did not play last week and will sit out again this week with the rest tag, an unusual declaration. He will not be the only defensive lineman who will be absent. Even though Mario Edwards was listed as questionable, Pete Carroll declared him out with a knee injury, and he is anticipated to miss the game. Boye Mafe, Derick Hall, and others will be counted on to stand up.

Finally, vital offensive line depth Jason Peters will miss the game due to a foot ailment. He could be out for a few weeks. However, it is in the questionable tags that the big names can be found, and this might get dicey. Dee Eskridge, a wide receiver, is still out with a rib ailment.

DK Metcalf did not practice again, but Carroll appeared to believe he would play. If he can’t, expect Tyler Lockett and Jaxon Smith-Njigba to receive substantial time, as well as more Jake Bobo. Kenneth Walker III missed practice on Friday due to illness and a shoulder ailment. Carroll stated that he will be a game-time decision.

Cornerback Devon Witherspoon appears to be on pace to play. While Carroll did name Witherspoon as a game-time decision, he has practiced all three days this week and appears to be more at ease cutting loose ahead of the Steelers game.

Jordyn Brooks was the day’s biggest surprise. He’ll be a game-time decision, although he practiced for the first time all week on Friday. Carroll did not appear hopeful about his chances of playing to begin the week, but a Friday practice always leaves the door open. If he is unavailable, Devin Bush will take his place.

Finally, with a knee injury, reserve linebacker and fullback Nick Bellore is questionable.
