Blackburn Rovers’ X admit wasted little time in ridiculing Wrexham after being drawn against the Welsh club in the fourth round of the FA Cup on Monday night

After being drawn against Wrexham in the FA Cup, Blackburn made a lighthearted dig at the Red Dragons.

The Championship team advanced to the fourth round of the championship with a 5-2 win against League One side Cambridge United, while League Two side Wrexham defeated League One club Shrewsbury.

Immediately following Monday’s draw, Blackburn’s X admin attempted to incite controversy by criticizing a huge blunder in their forthcoming opponent’s Welcome to Wrexham series. Viewers were outraged after seeing a map of England and Wales with the insignia of major football teams clumsily, and often utterly erroneously, placed around it, presumably emphasizing where in the UK they are headquartered.

Among the other glaring inaccuracies were the placement of Swansea and Cardiff in Devon, Newcastle in Lancashire (and further south than Leeds), and Everton on the west coast of Wales.

In other news, Blackburn were located directly on the Scottish border, which Rovers’ social media staff mocked at the time by publishing revised lyrics to the club’s ‘Blackburn Aces’ anthem. It said: “Going down the Bolton Road [crossed out] Hadrian’s Wall… to see the Blackburn aces!”
