Gary O’Neil hasn’t decided whether he’ll loan out talented 18-year-old in this window.

Wolves are looking to add a new striker to their team to help them become more ruthless in front of goal.

According to Understat, Gary O’Neil’s side ranks sixth in the Premier League this season for projected goals scored, indicating that additional firepower is required.

With Sasa Kalajdzic and Fabio Silva already on loan at the club, room has opened up for a new striker.

Borja Mayoral of Getafe, Hugo Ekitike of PSG, and Chris Bedia of Servette have all been connected.

O’Neil does not want to lose any of his players, including those in the young squad, until a new striker gets through the door.

Nathan Fraser, 18, is someone the Wolves manager is hesitant to let leave.

After impressing in the youth setup, he’s garnering interest from multiple Football League clubs; however, a prospective loan transfer for him is on hold until their striker situation is rectified.

Wolves, in an ideal world, would be free to loan away their young players without fear of repercussions.

However, given their current circumstances, they cannot afford to facilitate any exits until they can get someone else in the door.

O’Neil has admitted that he may have to wait until the end of the month to loan out Fraser, who is currently suffering from a minor injury.

In an interview with the Express & Star, he said: “We will do what’s best for Nathan but what happens in the window, with the shortage we have in that area of the pitch, will obviously have a bearing on the decision we make – in terms of whether it’s best for him to go out and get minutes or whether we think there’s an opportunity that he can impact it here,”

“That one will probably be made later in the month.”

Fraser has steadily progressed through the Wolves system and demonstrated his ability to manage the demands of senior football.

The brilliant teenager scored and assisted in the Carabao Cup 5-0 thumping of Blackpool.

He demonstrated his skills to those in attendance against League One opponents, and if given the chance, he has the potential to take the Football League by storm.

It wouldn’t be the end of the world if the 18-year-old wasn’t loaned out this window, but he appears ready to play first-team games and will be hoping Wolves acquire a striker so he can show his talent somewhere in the second part of the season.
