Paul Barber the CEO of Brighton admits that Evan Ferguson will most likely leave the Amex Stadium further down the line.

Brighton are expected to sell Chelsea target Evan Ferguson in the near future.

That is according to a senior Seagulls official.

Brighton’s CEO, Paul Barber, believes that Evan Ferguson is likely to leave the Amex Stadium in the future.

Brighton has established itself as one of the greatest clubs in Europe in terms of transfer business, with large profits being generated by player sales. In recent years, they have undoubtedly squeezed every penny out of Chelsea throughout their Premier League rivalry.

So, will 19-year-old striker Ferguson be the next Brighton talent to leave for a big fee?

Barber believes Ferguson is a “incredible talent” who will likely be sold at some point as part of the business plan. However, the Brighton manager declined to provide a timetable for any exit.

“Someone like Evan, who’s an incredible talent, he’s still got a way to go to learn his trade,” Barber told talkSPORT.com.

“Letting him go at some point in the future is going to be I’m sure part of the overall plan, both from our side and Evan’s side, but in the short-term we want to try and make sure we develop him the best we can.”

Ferguson is one of the most gifted adolescents in the game right now, having scored 15 goals in 53 first-team games for Brighton since making his senior debut.

Football Transfers revealed earlier this week that Chelsea has made an audacious offer to capture Ferguson on loan until the end of the season. Brighton reportedly turned down the bid, therefore the teenager is now expected to be a summer transfer target.

TalkSPORT recently claimed that Ferguson is on Chelsea’s striker shortlist for the summer. However, Republic of Ireland talent might cost as much as £115 million.

Ferguson appears to be a spectacular youth with endless potential, but Chelsea’s willingness to pay a nine-figure fee raises severe concerns.
