Sunderland and Ipswich transfer setback plus ‘messy’ Alex Pritchard situation

Despite interest from many Championship clubs, Bournemouth forward Kieffer Moore looks certain to stay with the club this month.

Sunderland and Ipswich are claimed to have made loan proposals for the 31-year-old forward, who has made only eight Premier League appearances this season, although the Cherries would prefer a permanent deal.

Moore, who was looking to get more playing time before Wales’ Euro 2024 play-off semi-final against Finland in March, is expected to stay at Bournemouth this month, according to the Athletic. The article also claims there is Championship interest in Cherries midfielder David Brooks, however a loan move would rely on a successor at the Vitality Stadium.

Following speculations that Hibernian were interested in loaning Sunderland winger Jewison Bennette, attacking midfielder Emi Marcondes, 28, has completed a six-month loan move from Bournemouth to the Scottish Premiership club.

Sunderland playmaker Alex Pritchard has also been linked with a transfer away from the Stadium of Light in recent weeks, with his 30-year-old contract scheduled to expire this summer. According to Mike McGrath of The Telegraph, Sunderland has created a’messy scenario’ with Pritchard, with no contract offer made. Nonetheless, with numerous clubs interested in signing him, the Black Cats are unwilling to let him go in January.

Championship team Birmingham, Turkish club Sivasspor, and MLS side Colorado Rapids are all rumored to be interested in Pritchard, who has started Sunderland’s past four games in all competitions. The Black Cats were ready to let the player go during the summer transfer window.
