Hollywood muscle flexing at Wrexham as Hopkins 86 becomes club’s new mascot

Hopkins transforms himself into Wrexham’s mascot, Wrex the Dragon, for this unique advertising developed by Reynolds’ Maximum Effort production business.

“To act is to deceive,” Hopkins declares in the commercial. “But, to become this beast well, that requires a little extra kick.”

The video then shows Hopkins in full dragon costume talking with fans on the pitch at STok Cae Ras. He cries loudly, “This is what they came to see. They love me! Roar!”

In a comical twist, Hopkins attributes the birth of the fire-breathing dragon to STōK’s cold brew, as he sips from a glass in the locker room during half-time.

He continues: “Ironically it is the cold brew that births the fire-breathing dragon.”

The advertisement ends with chants of “Wrexham! Wrexham!” in the background as Hopkins is informed that the second half of the game is about to begin.

This unusual Super Bowl commercial will air on February 11 during the game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LVIII. The cooperation between STōK and Wrexham is expected to reach at least 113.06 million fans worldwide.
