Danny Röhl says that it’s ‘hard to find the right words’ after Sheffield Wednesday’s heavy defeat to Huddersfield Town.

The Owls were hammered in a disastrous 12-minute period at John Smith’s Stadium, with the 4-0 placing the hosts eight points ahead of Wednesday and inflicting an eight-goal swing in goal differential.

It was a difficult afternoon for Röhl as he faced with the absence of certain key players in such an important game, and while he accepts that being disappointed is OK for the time being, they must get back on the horse and go again.

“It’s hard to find the right words, but first, I have to take responsibility for the defeat,” he went on to say. “It is not simple; this is football, and I expect a challenge. Today, we may be disappointed, but on Monday, I will find the perfect words and go again.

“They were fairly simple goals—three transition goals against us. We are not doing this, and our defense was inadequate in this case. You can see how close we were to a major defeat tonight after an excellent performance against Watford and one point.

“I had the impression at halftime that we weren’t sharp enough. Today, everyone might be disappointed, and I apologize to our followers for the outcome. It is now my responsibility to move forward; we have 16 games remaining; it will be difficult, but we must do our part.”
