Danny Rohl is ‘hugely confident’ that the Scottish footballer will be at the club next season no matter what.

Danny Rohl is ‘hugely convinced’ that one Sheffield Wednesday player will be with the club next season regardless of what happens.

Sheffield Wednesday’s future in the Championship remains uncertain, but their recent victory over Millwall has given them some hope.

The Owls are four points from safety, but still play Leeds United, Ipswich, West Brom, and Sunderland in their final 13 games of the season.

While their sole focus is on avoiding relegation, Sheffield Wednesday face the little issue of a large list of contracts expiring this summer.

Nine players’ current contracts will expire in a matter of months, and another seven will return to their original clubs after loan stays.

There have been rumors that the club is in talks with some players, but it is unknown how many of them will still be at Hillsborough come the start of next season.

However, The Star has reported that Danny Rohl is ‘hugely sure’ that Barry Bannan will sign regardless of division.

Barry Bannan has been one of the Owls’ most influential players in his nine years with the club, scoring 30 goals and assisting 65 times in 389 games.

The midfielder has already declared that he wanted to remain at Sheffield Wednesday, while Rohl has also praised his captain since he arrived in October.

It appears that both of them will get their desire, with Bannan poised to stay even if the club gets demoted back to League One.

Who will sign a new deal with Sheffield Wednesday?
It will be a major boost for Sheffield Wednesday, since Bannan is a fan favourite and has been a constant source of optimism during a difficult period.

Despite approaching 35 years old this year, Bannan is a crucial member of the squad, and his knowledge and leadership are especially valuable to the younger players around him.

Hopefully, a new contract for Bannan will inspire others to stay, though Danny Rohl’s future may also influence this.

Both Bannan and Josh Windass have confessed that the German is the best coach they’ve ever had, and if he commits to staying at Hillsborough beyond the summer, a number of players may be ready to join him.

Sheffield Wednesday are set to postpone many contract talks, with their place in the football pyramid likely to be a deciding factor in certain players’ futures.
