Danny Rohl has outlined the steps Sheffield Wednesday must take to reclaim their Premier League status.
Sheffield Wednesday has remained in the Premier League since its inception in 1992-93, therefore it has been over 24 years since they were demoted.
The Owls finished third in their debut season and seventh on three times, while also competing in the UEFA Cup and UEFA Intertoto Cup.
However, they were relegated to Division One after finishing 19th in the 1999-00 season, only to be demoted to Division Two three years later.
It has subsequently been a difficult run for the Yorkshire club, which has spent 15 of the last 20 years in the Championship.
The club is presently fighting for their spot in the second division, hoping to avoid relegation to League One, with Danny Rohl leading the team to within three points of safety.

While Sheffield Wednesday still have a lot of work to do to stay up, the German coach has already addressed the future goal of returning to the Premier League.
Rohl told Kicker, “With the potential of the fans and the charisma, #SWFC can become a Premier League club again.” However, you must make significant investments, both financially and in terms of identity. We have now given the push for this.”
What happens to Sheffield Wednesday next season?
It’s been a long time since Sheffield Wednesday was in the top flight, and fans haven’t had the opportunity to ponder returning anytime soon.
Though there is talk around Hillsborough that Danny Rohl may accomplish fantastic things here if he can keep the team in the Championship.
Given the transformation the 34-year-old has undergone, it’s a shame he hasn’t been in Sheffield since the summer. If the league had begun when he was first appointed, the Owls could be in 14th place right now, nine points out of the playoffs and eight points above the drop zone.
If the team can stay in the second division this season while still keeping Rohl, there is no reason why he cannot become a true hero in the coming years.
