Jets Have Made A Decision About Zach Wilson’s Future

The New York Jets took a bold move ahead of the 2023 NFL season by trading for superstar quarterback Aaron Rodgers in a blockbuster deal with the Green Bay Packers.

As a result of the blockbuster trade, Zach Wilson, the team’s No. 2 overall choice in the 2021 NFL Draft, will have to take a backseat to Rodgers, with the organization expecting to capitalize on a potential title-contending window in New York.
However, after Rodgers suffered an Achilles injury in the first game of the season against the division foe Buffalo Bills, the Jets had to rely on Wilson once more to lead the team under center.

As projected, Wilson’s third season as a starter in New York did not go as planned, as he struggled to lead the team, finishing with 2,271 passing yards, eight touchdowns, and seven interceptions.

The Jets finished the 2023 season with a 7-10 record and missed the NFL playoffs entirely, prompting the franchise to give Wilson permission to seek a trade this offseason, according to Ari Meirov of The 33rd franchise.

Only time will tell if Wilson can find a trade partner for his talents, since he has proven to teams across the league that he is at best a subpar quarterback.

However, a change of scenery may occasionally help players like Wilson turn their careers around, and that may be exactly what’s needed in this situation, although it’s unclear which team, if any, is willing to trade for him.
