Nottingham Forest player has proved how important he is without actually kicking a ball for the Reds.

Nottingham Forest faced Manchester United Friday night, and Nicolas Dominguez demonstrated his importance without kicking a ball for the Reds.

Forest were eliminated from the FA Cup after a late sucker punch from Casemiro in extra time at the end of the second half.

Dominguez spent the night on the replacements bench, which should not be the norm for the 11-cap Argentina star.

Nicolas Dominguez is extremely crucial to Nottingham Forest.

Ryan Yates is often the Forest player that is praised for simply rushing around and causing a nuisance.

However, in a system with only two central midfielders, Nuno Espirito Santo need more than the minimum requirements for a professional footballer.

In the middle of the park, he needs the enthusiasm of a player like Yates, but he also wants someone with football talent, such as Dominguez.

Last night, Forest missed the 25-year-old as Manchester United dominated the last parts of the game and eventually scored a late victory.

Dominguez was not introduced at all last night, yet he established his significance to the current Forest team without ever kicking a ball against the Red Devils.

Dominguez hopes to be well-rested on Saturday.

Perhaps it was a little harsh for the Argentine to be left out of the starting eleven in the beginning.

However, it appeared like Espirito Santo was eager to change things, as a number of players received minutes.

Matt Turner, Divock Origi, and Yates all started doing something they hadn’t been doing in recent weeks.

Dominguez is a big fan of Darren Fletcher, who called him ‘amazing’ earlier this season on TNT.

Dominguez, Forest’s midfielder, is highlighted in Who Scored.

He has made 55 tackles this season, more than any other Forest player.

Furthermore, he has made more successful short passes than any other central midfielder who is still with the club.

Perhaps more importantly, he commits less fouls than Yates, who has made 20 more than Dominguez this season.

Espirito Santo will have learned a lot about his team yesterday night, and in reality, the game could have gone either way.

Dominguez’s importance to the Portuguese manager’s style of play was clear, despite the fact that he did not even kick a ball.
