Beauvillier’s short-lived stint in Chicago has come to an end.

Following a frenzy of NHL trade deadline activity across the league on Wednesday, the Chicago Blackhawks joined in on Thursday. The Blackhawks are trading forward Anthony Beauvillier to the Nashville Predators in exchange for a 2024 fifth-round draft pick, according to Scott Powers of The Athletic.

Beauvillier’s stint in Chicago was extremely brief. The Quebec native, who was acquired from the Vancouver Canucks on November 28, collected six points (two goals, four assists) in only 23 games with the Blackhawks. His Chicago stint was hampered by a left wrist injury that kept him out from January 3 to February 18.

Beauvillier previously played for the New York Islanders for parts of seven seasons before joining the Blackhawks and Canucks. Despite his poor performance this season, his relationship with Barry Trotz, the former Isles coach and current Predators general manager, most certainly influenced Nashville’s interest in him.

The Blackhawks’ Kyle Davidson recouped the draft pick he handed to Vancouver to acquire Beauvillier in the first place. The Blackhawks aren’t expected to be significant players before the NHL trade deadline, but a few other players could be on the move before the clock strikes 2 PM CT on Friday.
