Birmingham City supporters apocalyptic prediction after last-gasp heartbreak vs Millwall

Birmingham City fans are fearful “this could be the end” of their Championship status after suffering a last-gasp defeat to Millwall.

The Blues appeared to have earned a crucial road point until calamity struck in the 89th minute. Japhet Tanganga, on loan from Tottenham Hotspur, headed into the bottom corner to snatch all three points at the Den, slicing a knife into Birmingham’s survival chances.
With 10 games to go, Mark Venus’ squad is one point above the bottom three. City’s next game is at Queens Park Rangers, but fans are already losing hope.
One fan slammed the “pathetic” performance in the capital, criticising referee Darren Bond for failing to give a penalty. With the score tied, Joe Bryan appeared to bring down Jay Stansfield in the area, but his objections were ignored.

“I’m sorry, but that was pathetic Blues,” the irate social media post said. “We should have had a penalty, but my goodness, they need to work harder than they did in the first half. Why did Pritchard get replaced just when he was getting into form? “This could be the end.”

A commenter asked what might have happened on a day when Birmingham squandered multiple opportunities. The fan commented, “Had a few nice chances early in the second half. A missed opportunity today.”

Hundreds of supporters posted similar messages after watching their team fall in the dying embers. City fans are becoming “nervous” about the prospect of League One football for the first time since 1995.

“Jesus,” the Blues fan wrote. “It doesn’t look nice at all. We don’t appear to have enough players for the fight, quality, or luck. The season comes to a terrifying close. I’m not sure why certain players start. Nervous times!”
