Max Verstappen sends clear message to dad Jos Verstappen as Red Bull camp continues to be a chaotic

The Red Bull camp is hectic off the track, but Max Verstappen continues to win races on it.
Max Verstappen has sought for ‘harmony’ in the Red Bull camp following a turbulent start to the 2024 Formula One season. This will send a strong message to his father, Jos, who launched a second attack on team principal Christian Horner ahead of the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.
Jos went to the press to divulge details of a ‘blazing dispute’ between himself and Horner in the Bahrain Grand Prix paddock one week ago, alleging that the team principal’s job was becoming untenable and that by refusing to step down, he risked ripping the team apart.

The 52-year-old then doubled down on his statements ahead of the second round in Jeddah, telling the Daily Mail: “All of this is influencing Max.

“All we hear is about Horner and what happened to his predicament. Horner’s news conference the other day was all about him and his troubles, when we should have been discussing Max, the vehicle, his performance, and the race.
“I’ve already stated that I believe it will cause problems if he stays. I believe it is too late for Christian to say ‘leave me alone’, but he has the Thai owner’s support, so I believe he will stay for the rest of the season. I indicated it would be bad if he stayed because it isn’t beneficial for the team or the situation overall.”

However, with important ally Helmut Marko’s future appearing more safe, his son was eager to put the off-track mayhem behind him following Saturday’s race at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit.

Verstappen told Sky Sports F1 on the off-track drama: “Yeah, I think everyone knows that it is important to have peace in the team and just focus on the driving and performance aspect, so that’s what we try to do as a team.”

The Dutchman had plenty to celebrate on the racetrack in Saudi Arabia. He dominated proceedings from start to finish, securing a second consecutive Red Bull one-two finish and taking a commanding lead in the Drivers’ Championship.

Furthermore, Verstappen got one step closer to shattering his own record and making history. Continuing his remarkable run from the end of the 2023 season, the 26-year-old has now won nine consecutive Grands Prix.
