The Sunderland star has apologised to fans after the defeat to Southampton.

Jobe Bellingham has apologized to Sunderland fans following Saturday’s 4-2 Championship loss to Southampton at St Mary’s Stadium.

The Black Cats trailed 2-0 in the first half, thanks to Stuart Armstrong’s opener (which Jobe was to blame for) and an Adam Armstrong penalty. Sunderland did, however, draw level after the break, with to goals from Romaine Mundle and Jobe in a nine-minute period.
Southampton did, however, take the points after substitute Joe Rothwell scored twice from close range to give Russell Martin’s promotion-chasing side the victory. However, after the game, Southampton used social media to rejoice.

On Sunday evening, Jobe apologized to fans on social media for his blunder during the game. He remarked, “I apologize to my fans and teammates. I’ll learn. “Onto Saturday to make things right.”

Jobe joined Sunderland from Birmingham City last summer and has six goals in 36 Championship outings this season.

Sunderland’s Championship loss against Southampton at St Mary’s Stadium on Saturday was the club’s sixth in a row, the first since March 2006. The Wearsiders are presently 12th in the league, nine points from the relegation zone and eleven from the play-offs.
The Black Cats, who are currently led by temporary head coach Mike Dodds until the end of the season, face QPR in the Championship next Saturday at the Stadium of Light, with Jobe & Co hoping to stop Sunderland’s winless streak.
