Birmingham City news from BirminghamLive includes the injury latest ahead of Blues’ game against Watford

Marc Roberts and Siriki Dembele have joined Krystian Bielik in Birmingham City’s treatment room.

Roberts left 20 minutes into the Blues’ 1-0 loss to Middlesbrough on Tuesday, while Dembele did not make the team. Center-back Roberts, 33, has experienced a calf injury recurrence after starting two games despite the agony.

Interim manager Mark Venus stated, “Marc has injured his calf again, and I believe he will need time away from the team.” He’s had a sore calf for some time.

“He was finishing up training sessions and the calf wasn’t giving him any trouble, then the other night it did. He is out, as is customary in football clubs. We need to deal with it.

Venus also stated that Dembele will not play against Watford during his pre-match press conference on Thursday. Dembele sustained a foot injury during training that required stitches.

Krystian Bielik of Poland will not play until after the international break, but Dion Sanderson’s return from suspension could help the Blues’ center defence. Sanderson is anticipated to partner Emanuel Aiwu in the back on Saturday.

Keshi Anderson, who has been out of favour since the end of January, has also sustained an injury, but he should be back shortly. “He has a knee injury as well,” Venus explained. “He has not trained since Ipswich. He is on his path to recovery presently. I believe he will train after Saturday and during the international break.
