Joe Biden has taken a sarcastic swing at election rival Donald Trump after he posted a self-celebratory social media post announcing his own golf club’s award night.

Joe Biden took a tongue-in-cheek shot at his political opponent after he posted on his Truth Social media platform about his success at his own golf club’s awards night.

The president reposted a message by Mr Trump announcing his win at the Trump International Golf Club’s awards ceremony in West Palm Beach, Florida.

“It is a great honor for me to be at Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach today for awards night to receive the club championship and senior club championship trophies. “I won both,” he said on his social networking platform Truth Social, in his signature cap-lock manner.

“A huge and talented golfing membership, along with a wonderful and demanding course, made the game very entertaining. The qualifying and match play were incredible.

“A huge and respected group will attend tonight. Thank you very much!!!”

Mr Biden responded to the tweet, taking a tongue-in-cheek jab at his political opponent.

He shared a screenshot of Mr Trump’s post on his personal X account and commented, “Congratulations, Donald. Quite a feat.”

Mr Biden and Mr Trump are due to face off in November’s presidential election, in a rematch of their 2020 campaign for the White House.

It will be the first time since 1956 that the same two candidates compete in consecutive elections.

Mr Trump was declared the presumptive Republican presidential nominee last month after defeating all of his opponents in his party’s primaries.

Mr Biden also won enough delegates to become the Democratic Party’s nominee.

Both parties plan to host their national conventions in the summer, ahead of the November election.
